My Son is Cool

Max is 18 now and at this place where he thinks he knows everything, pretty annoying at times. He hasn't always been so difficult - he was actually pretty easy-going up until the age of 15. But, there are days when he blows me away - like when he gets excited about a project in his speech class, or when he washes a load of laundry without being told, and when he turns me on to music I never even knew existed. Cap'n Jazz. Wow - I can't believe that I never knew about these guys. Thank you Maxi Taxi - I love you.

A Freestyle Flow of Things We Love

Howdy! I think this first blog needs to be a list of sorts, that's why we are calling it... A Freestyle Flow of Things We Love.

1. Have you seen the video for LL Cool J's "Doin' It"? The scene, you know the one - it makes you feel funny. No doubt he's the playa you've been talkin' about.

LL and the Giant Peach

2. Freestyle dance moves and wopping it out! Fog machines and laser rays.

Take me, take me, take me home.

3. Magical nights. They usually start out with someone not feeling well, or a bad mood. You meet up with your pals and maybe have a beer and grab a bite to eat. Then, before you know it, an adventure is underway. An impromptu dance party on a front porch which is followed by a visit to the gayborhood. Trapped at the Tap during a rainstorm.  Pershing Inn kickball strip parties. Mini-Cooper ass prints. The party bus and Jaguars. A complete reenactment of When the Doves Cry, floor crawl and all.

4. Target and the 50-75% bargains, they can all be yours if you bide your time. But, you must have a plan, you have to work that store because its set up to make you want it all and affordable enough to get it before it goes on sale. To win the game, you must wait, track it, stalk it and make it yours at $3.74 instead of &12.99.

5. Patty Lee by Les Savy Fav, ChChCherry Bomb by the Runaways, and Barracuda by Heart.
